Overview
The Okanagan Young Professionals (OYP) Collective is a program of the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission. We are hub of resources to attract and retain talent in the region by helping build community and create opportunities for young people.
There’s no membership and we don’t sell anything – other than why it’s so great to live here! All are welcome to join in to connect with other awesome young professionals in our community.
Who are we?
A talented and energetic collection of individuals committed to cultivating a culture for Okanagan professionals in their 20’s and 30’s (Over 40? Don’t worry – we don’t I.D. and the more, the merrier!).
What’s our mission?
The OYP Collective is creating a dynamic, vibrant culture and community that attracts and retains young professionals to the Central Okanagan region through a variety of volunteer, social, professional, sports, arts, cultural events and activities.
What is a collective?
[kəˈlektiv] : A group of individuals or entities that share or are motivated by a common issue or interest and work together on a specific project(s) to achieve a common objective.

We love where we live! From sharing hidden gems to supporting and promoting local, we’re always game to talk about all the amazing people, places and things you can find in our region.

We work with individuals and organizations to identify gaps in our community and help lead initiatives to fill them.

We’ve woven a extensive web of contacts in the region to ensure we can introduce you to the right people. We also host events to help you expand your network and meet awesome people.

- What is the age limit to participate?
Though we’re primarily aimed at those in their 20’s and 30’s, we welcome people of all ages, so don’t hesitate to join in the fun! The more the merrier and everyone’s experiences bring valuable insights.
- How do I know if I’m considered a “professional”?
The word ‘professional’ can conjure up images of degree-holders and business attire, and while we welcome those, we realize being a professional is much more about motivation than a piece of paper or an outfit. OYP Collective is made up of individuals from various backgrounds and industries. Whether you are currently in, or seeking a career or to expand your network in the Central Okanagan, we’re here to help!
